A former Superintendent of St. Peter Public Schools is stepping back into the position for now, as the school looks for a permanent leader.

Current Superintendent Paul Peterson accepted a position as superintendent of the Mankato School District. His role there begins July 1.

The St. Peter School Board approved Jeff Olson as interim superintendent at its meeting this week. Olson served as superintendent in St. Peter from 2003 to 2014. Prior to that he served as principal at St. Peter High School and taught social studies there.

Olson will fill the position for only the upcoming school year, giving the board more time to do a thorough search in finding a permanent superintendent.
