Mankato’s North Riverfront Drive partially closed Friday morning for Dakota Ride

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) -

Starting at 9 a.m. Friday, December 26, a portion of North Riverfront Drive will be temporarily closed for the Makatoh Reconciliation and Healing Horse Ride and Dakota Exiles Ride. That closure will be between East Main and Plum streets. The horseback ride begins around 9 a.m. in Land of Memories Park, 300 Amos Owen Lane, and continues onto Highway 169. Riders cross the southbound lanes to the first exit onto the northbound lane of North Riverfront Drive to make their way to Reconciliation Park, 100 N. Riverfront Drive. Once at the monument site, the northbound and southbound lanes of North Riverfront Drive (between East Main and Plum streets) will be closed until the completion of the ceremony. The road is expected to reopen by 12 p.m.
