Mayo launches ‘Primary Care on Demand’ app
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Mayo Clinic Health System unveils a new app that will allow patients 24/7 virtual access to their doctors.
The app is called “Primary Care on Demand.” It will be available to patients 18 and older in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
All patients have to do is download and log into the app using their Mayo Clinic Health System patient portal username and password.
“Patients have really enjoyed it. They really appreciate the fact that they can do it on their time and a lot of folks, they because of their work schedule and that type of thing, it would be rather difficult for them to be able to come in and see if somebody during regular business hour or on the weekend,” said Dr. David Blair.
Patients will also have to take a symptom evaluation at no cost and they typically will be seen in about 30 minutes... or they can pick a preferred time and the app will let them know when the doctor is ready to see them.
The app is available through the Apple Store or Google Play.
