Gas prices are going down
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Gas is constantly fluctuating but Minnesota has recently seen gas prices drop on average around the state according to GasBuddy, which surveyed over 2,800 Minnesota gas stations.
“But it’s really nice. It’s, you know, that it helps the whole economy when that happens. So I’m excited about that for me and for the whole world,” Karl Johnson said.
“Well, I mean, nobody likes to pay $3 a gallon, but, I mean, that’s what it is,” Shirley Ruby said.
There are a lot of good feelings right now with gas prices and of course, people are missing that $2 gas from 2020.
“Gasoline, petroleum, like corn and soybeans are very sensitive to supply and demand, and when their prices change, it’s usually due to demand issues on the petroleum side, and I found it’s kind of immune to who’s in political office,” Paul Gorman said.
So, during slow travel periods, gas is lower, but when many people are traveling around on the holidays or in the summer, it goes up in price.
“It’s, you know, it fluctuates, but for most part, it’s been pretty decent compared to a lot of places,” Rashid Fathi said.
“Well, I wouldn’t object if they want to go down more, but I’m okay with them, at least they’re not $4 a gallon,” Vicki said.
To some, gas is still a little too expensive, but others are seeing the drop as a good time to travel a bit more.
“We travel more, for sure. I got kids, and we love to get out all the ways the gasses are cheap, so the cheaper, the better, for sure,” Fathi said.
“Longer trips generally, we’re on motorcycles, three wheelers, or we have a big SUV and a travel trailer, and we haul a motorcycle or something. So then we’re burning lots of gas,” Gorman said.
GasBuddy found that the lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.65 per gallon while the highest was $3.59 per gallon.
