MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation says repairs to the eastbound Highway 14 bridge over Highway 22 in Mankato are nearing completion.

Northbound Highway 22 at Highway 14 in Mankato is expected to open to traffic sometime on Friday, September 20.

Eastbound Highway 14 over Highway 22 in Mankato will remain reduced to one lane until repairs to the bridge are complete. Additionally, eastbound Highway 14 over Highway 22 will be temporarily closed overnight on both September 23 and 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews remove temporary concrete barriers and replace a seal across both lanes of the bridge. Traffic will be routed to the eastbound Highway 14 exit and entrance ramps. Repairs to the bridge are expected to be complete in late September.

The bridge was struck and damaged by a commercial vehicle in January requiring repairs to the bridge fascia beam, portions of the bridge rail, and deck. Lunda Construction Company was awarded the project with a bid of $358,519.00.

Highway 22 from Victory Drive to Blue Earth County Road 26 in Mankato remains closed to traffic until early October for construction of a dual-lane roundabout at Highway 22 and Augusta Drive.
