Beloved Dam Store set to re-open in new location

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Want to get some dam pie? Lucky for you, the Rapidan Dam Store prepares to open this upcoming Monday.

The Hruska family tells KEYC that they expect to open its doors on October 7.

Originally, the family wanted to rebuild in Rapidan, but quickly found out that wouldn’t be possible for a while after historic flooding and damage on the Rapidan Dam, bridge, and site.

The Dam Store takes the place of the old Wagon Wheel Cafe on Front Street.

The Hruska family says inside of the old cafe was transformed to bring as much of the Dam Store feel as possible.

We will have much more coverage of the re-opening of the Dam Store on KEYC News Now.
