MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - A month after fall has officially started, we’re getting some cooler weather which means it’s time to grab some thicker coats and boots.

For those who have outgrown or worn out their winter gear, the Salvation Army is hosting its annual winter wear program, Bundle Me Warm, tomorrow and Thursday.

A variety of gently used cold weather items will be available to grab for free from Sal’s Youth Center such as coats, boots, gloves and hats.

Last year, the Salvation Army was able to give out over 2,500 items helping around 700 people.

“We love when people come. We love when they get blessed with new things, or new to them things, that are going to keep them safe and warm for the rest of this winter,” Salvation Army Captain Andy Wheeler said.

Anyone who needs winter items is welcome to grab what they need.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

Only one visit is permitted per season.
