Two Mankato businesses to close after holiday season

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) -As the calendar marches towards the holiday season many local businesses are preparing for some changes.

Both Sony + Dot and Vivian Rose Boutique in Mankato have announced that they’ll be closing their door once the holidays season is over.

That comes after a year of historic flooding and construction that saw the disruption of many businesses.

Both stores say that they will stay open for the the rest of the year and have items marked down, but once the holiday season closes, so will the stores.

Some businesses like the newly reopened Dam Store are only open seasonally, so those stores will also be closing as the weather gets colder.

Things aren’t all bad for businesses in Mankato.

The completion of Riverfront Drive’s construction and the upcoming holiday season mean that businesses are expecting an upcoming rush.

Other stores like Tune Town recently expanded their space, signifying growth and a hopeful future in the community.
