UPDATE: Missing Kiwanis Holiday Lights displays returned

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - UPDATE: Good news, the displays that recently went missing from Kiwanis Holiday Lights in Mankato’s Sibley Park have been returned.

During a live interview on KEYC News Now at 5, KHL COO Scott Wojcik said they were returned Tuesday afternoon.

ORIGINAL STORY: This weekend marked the final weekend of setup for the annual Kiwanis Holiday Lights display at Sibley Park. However the group behind the popular light show says some displays have apparently gone missing.

In a post on their Facebook page, Kiwanis Holiday Lights says some displays have gone missing over the past few weeks.

Scott Wojcik, Chief Operating Officer for Kiwanis Holiday Lights says multiple snowmen are gone, as well as an elf walking a reindeer.
Organizers say they’re disappointed, but hope that people do the right thing and bring back the displays.

“We do have cameras down there, if you guys are down there mesing around. We understand people will do dumb things. But, with our event, it’s for the community. We put in a lot of time down there, non-profits put in a lot of effort and time. So, it’s disappointing when stuff like this happens.”

The 12th Annual Kiwanis Holiday Lights Opening Night Parade is Friday at 6 pm. The event runs night in Sibley Park through December 31.
