Bus service expands in North Mankato starting Monday

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Bus service will expand in North Mankato starting Monday.

The Mankato Transit System, which provides public bus service to North Mankato, will expand service to North Mankato starting on Monday, January 13, 2025.

According to the city of Mankato, the expansion provides an additional hour of service on weekdays and Saturdays for Fixed Route 5. In addition, Paratransit Service for North Mankato will now be available seven days a week.

Route 5 serves commercial, industrial, academic, and civic centers in North Mankato with a thirty-minute frequency beginning at the Cherry Street bus stop. The adjusted schedule will be:

• Weekdays: 6:05 a.m. to 6:05 p.m.
• Saturdays: 10:05 a.m. to 6:05 p.m.

The city says the enhancements are part of a continued rollout of the Transit Development Plan, with a goal of providing the best opportunities for riders.
