NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - North Mankato has installed a new life-saving device to Caswell Park.

In February outdoor AEDs were installed at Mankato West and Wheeler Park and Friday a third device at Caswell was unveiled, located next to the Splash Pad.

The device comes from the advocacy of the family of Faith Larson, who died from sudden cardiac arrest in 2022, alongside former Miss Minnesota Emily Schumacher, who has been a longtime advocate for heart health.

Caswell’s new device also includes a Stop the Bleed kit, which will also offer first-aid capabilities.

“By having this AED outside it is accessible to everyone, and now that we placed it here at Caswell it will not only support the athletes and their spectators but also the kids and the parents that play in the park in the afternoon or in the evening,” Schumacher said.

The device was made possible through a donation by Marley and Judi Lloyd, local residents who were touched by Faith’s story.
