“Solar Tour” to showcase Mankato’s green energy options

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Residents have the opportunity to see what opportunities for green energy are available in their community.

This Sunday will see a “Solar Tour” taking residents around the community to see what solar arrays and green appliances look like and how they can incorporate them into their own households.

Organizers of the tour said that a lot of progress has been made over the years to make the community more sustainable, and there’s plenty of steps, big and small, that residents can take in their own homes.

“Whatever step you want to take, whatever you feel driven by, there will be something that you can learn and take away from this to make your home and your community more sustainable,“ Sabri Fair with the Southcentral Minnesota Clean Energy Council said.

The tour takes off on Sunday from LocAle Brewing in Mankato at 1 p.m.
