Valley View Dental in Saint Peter preparing for 4th annual Free Care for Vets Day
Coming up - November 7th
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Days before Veterans Day, Valley View Dental in Saint Peter is decorated and ready for its fourth annual free vet care event.
Office Manager Jaide Timmerman said, “Doctor Miller came to us and said she wanted to brainstorm a way that we could service as many veterans in our community as possible.”
Doctor Jennifer Miller wanted to give free dental care to Veterans in need. Through family of hers who are veterans and patients, she sees where some could use the help.
“This is a small service that I can offer to give back to them and try to help them. And let them know that there are people out there, they’re not forgotten, and we love to serve them, and we cherish them as well,” Doctor Miller explained.
Her office has backed her fully for this cause, and they feel it’s an easy one to support. Timmerman said, “Veterans have sacrificed so much for all of us and so this is just one small way that we can say ‘thank you’ to them.”
For Dr. Miller, the feeling of gratitude and seeing the veterans getting the care they need is overwhelming.
“[This is] one of my favorite days of the year, it really is. It helps us to know that what we give out, we receive back ten times more. So, it really is wonderful,” Miller said with welling eyes.
Dr. Miller has also recruited Rising Sun Chiropractic Care to offer free services as well, and she hopes that desire to give back spreads to any and everyone.
“I encourage people, whether it’s a veteran, their neighbor that’s struggling, someone at their church, reach out to them,” Miller said. “A small thing can make a big impact in a person’s life.”
Dr. Miller is bringing in the season of giving a little early with this event happening on Nov. 7 and she encourages vets who are interested to reach out to Valley View Dental and/or Rising Sun Chiropractic to get registered ahead of time.
