MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Mankato Salvation Army is in need of bell ringers, especially for the upcoming holiday weekend.

The group says that Black Friday and the ensuing weekend is one of the busiest times of the season, and they’re short on ringers across all time-slots and locations, including indoor locations like Walmart.

It’s too late to sign up online for Black Friday ringing, so anyone interested should contact the Salvation Army directly, who said that this year has been particularly difficult for finding volunteers.

“We still have over a thousand hours unaccounted for in our campaign left. So I’m a little intimidated by that. I know this community. I know there’s a lot of really great people, businesses, churches, all of that that are going to come in, step up and help us,“ said Captain Andy Wheeler of the Mankato Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army is even offering seasonal paid bell ringing positions throughout the holiday season.
