MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Another spring and another school year has come and gone, as MSU Mankato is set to hold commencement ceremonies all weekend long.

Graduates, such as Elsa-Marie Landherr, will soon be taking their first steps into the rest of their lives.

“I feel really good. It’s almost like a little bit of a bittersweet moment. Definitely sad to be graduating but also excited and happy of everything I accomplished while I was in school,” Landherr said, who is graduating with a degree in Sport Management.

The graduating class is all together at last, even as they come from different places.

“I’m actually from overseas and a highlight of here is I had family in the area and they’re like ‘Mankato is a great school.’ I delved into their business program, and they have a lot of partnerships with big firms so it’s just a great starting point for my accounting career,” Christian Meouchy, an accounting student who already has his first job lined up, said.

Now they will all be heading in different directions.

“I have a graduate program lined up for the fall so I’m just very excited for the future and thankful for the past,” psychology major Gracie Johnson said.

“I feel pretty relieved, it’s a lot of anxiety off of my chest because it’s pretty stressful, especially when you’re graduating and looking for a job and I’m glad I was able to find a good job in a great place,” Meouchy said.
