Poplar Apartments on track to bring new housing opportunities to Mankato in 2027
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Partners For Housing reported on Monday, Aug. 17, that construction is on track at Mankato’s upcoming Poplar Apartments for an opening day in spring of 2027.
The nonprofit said the $15 million dollar project has been a team effort with the city, the county and several construction companies including Brennan companies, Trellis Company and Kato Roofing Incorporated.
Trisha Anderson, the executive director for Partners for Housing, said the 40 unit apartment complex will come with 40 Project-Based Rental Assistance Vouchers from the City of Mankato, meant to help families suffering from housing insecurity.
The complex will also have case advocates employed by the nonprofit, to help support families transitioning into stable housing, and collaborative partnerships for other resources to help with that transition.
“We’re able to serve 40 house holds to have long term stable housing and then meet their needs where they’re at. Supporting them through stable housing, working with them to overcome the barriers that brought them to being unhoused, and really just walk alongside them in their journeys towards housing stability,” Anderson said.
The apartment complex hopes to open in March, 2027 at the earliest.
