Following a soggy start to the week, the rest of this week will be on the quieter side despite a few minor/isolated showers and/or thunderstorms possible tonight, Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures through the rest of this week will also remain on the cooler side with highs in the 50s.

Today will start off with mostly sunny skies before clouds gradually move in through this afternoon, making way for mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will hover in the mid-50s with a light breeze between 10 and 15 mph, gusts up to 20 mph possible at times. Tonight will start off mostly cloudy with some late night to a early overnight showers possible. Showers will mainly be along the border of Minnesota and Iowa with a few sprinkles possibly reaching Mankato/the south central portion of the area between 10 pm and 11 pm tonight. These rain chances, regardless of if you are in south central Minnesota or along the border of Minnesota and Iowa will be very light with little to no accumulation expected. From there, we will see gradual clearing with mostly clear skies returning overnight as temperatures once again drop into the mid-30s by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will then teeter between mostly sunny and partly cloudy with a few isolated thunderstorms across southern Minnesota between 12 pm and 3 pm. From there, these isolated thunderstorms will move south into and across northern Iowa between 4 pm and midnight. Temperatures will hover in the mid to upper-50s through the afternoon hours with winds hovering between 10 and 15 mph, gusts up to 20 mph possible at times. Tomorrow night will teeter between partly cloudy and mostly clear as temperatures drop into the mid-30s by Thursday morning.

Thursday and Friday will continue to teeter between partly cloudy and mostly sunny skies across the area. Winds will likely hover between 5 and 15 mph as temperatures remain in the mid-50s for both days. Overnight temperatures will likely drop into the mid-30s by both mornings.

This coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, will be on the more pleasant side as seasonal temperatures return to the area. This means we are looking at warming up into the low to mid-60s both afternoons. Winds through the upcoming weekend will be relatively light, averaging between 5 and 15 mph across the area. Overnight conditions are expected to remain quiet and a tad warmer with temperatures dropping into the low to mid-40s by the following mornings.

Next week is looking to remain on the quiet side with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies for Monday through Thursday. Temperatures will continue to remain more seasonal with highs anywhere in the low to mid-60s across the area. Winds will be more breezy than not, averaging between 10 and 20 mph, occasional gusts up to 25 mph possible at times. The only rain chances we have in the forecast as of right now, are a few isolated showers/thunderstorms possible next Wednesday afternoon/evening. Overnight temperatures are expected to remain on the more seasonal side as well, dropping into the mid-40s by the following mornings.
