Weather Kid: Local 4H girl talks pleasant weekend forecast
Meteorologist Caitlyn Lorr is joined by this week’s Weather Kids, Annie and Charlotte!
Meet Charlotte, this week’s Weather Kid! Charlotte is 10 years old and just finished up her 4th grade year. Her and her siblings are homeschooled and they participate in 4H related events and activities.
Charlotte loves to learn about origami, saying her favorite thing to create are cranes. Though, she is very talented and create many different designs from paper t-shirts to other animals.
She has 2 sisters, 1 brother and a lot of farm animals including cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, cats and dogs. She said the cats and dogs are their pets and they raise the other farm animals for showing and for eating.
They do a lot of their own work when it comes to raising the animals, showing them, and even butchering them. She shows her cows, chicken, and sheep at the Faribault County Fair as well as the Lake Fest Steak Show. She is currently too young to make it to state to compete in showing, but shows interest in making it there once she’s old enough!
She is also talented when it comes to dancing. The has been dancing with the Mapleton Kilties Scottish Dance Group for the past 4 years. She does two performances with them a year, one big on in January and one coming up this weekend.
When Charlotte is not busy with Scottish Dance, 4H or showing her animals, you can find her enjoying nice days outside playing with her siblings, reading, or picking flowers. If the weather is not nice enough to be outside, you can find her inside reading or doing crafts. Her favorite series to read is the Harry Potter series, which she said she has already read 4 times in total!
